Fact: Over 2 Million Jobs Have Been Lost Since Bush's 2001 Tax Cut Was Enacted. In 2001, when touting his tax cut Bush said, "My plan is good for the long-term health of our economy. It is good for the businesses that create jobs." Overall, 2.1 million jobs have been lost since the 2001 Bush tax cut was enacted; the measure was signed on June 7, 2001.
