Latino Gold
"As New Orleans redefines itself after Katrina, the influx of large numbers of Latino immigrants is another jolt for a city that has historically thought of itself as black and white."
Not ture. New Orleans before the hurricane was 80 percent black. They city has never really thought of itself as black and white.
"The [latino] group slept in a park for a month, showered with hoses and used bushes as toilets. By day they put blue tarps on roofs for a FEMA subcontractor.
"We ate once a day," Santos said. "We'd buy canned food from a store that had a few things for sale.""
Contrast that against this....
""There are thousands of blacks that are still out of town who can't get back to town because there's no housing," said Elaine Smiley, an African American, as she oversaw the renovation of her home in the Gentilly neighborhood. "If we had enough of those blacks back here, they could do the work.""
The mexicans did not need houses.
"But the laborers have brought a single-minded focus on work that many residents say is foreign to the Big Easy. "We're here to work," said Juan Sanchez. "We're doing this to build our own houses in Mexico.""
That is one reason why we need to keep them out. They are not hear to build a better America, just a better Mexico.

Somthing Useful
I closed my accounts at the end of February.
Apparently, if you use your PIN the charges go though immediately, but if you use your debit card as a credit card the charges can go though at any time.
The bank said that it was not their fault. It is not my fault. They also said they would turn over my account to a collection agency if it is negative for 30 days. While it might go on my credit, the lady said it was only on their for 7 years. I probably will wait them out , just out of spite. Secondly, i doubt the collection agency can find me and I also doubt they will do anything serious about it for the small amount of money. Of course i could hire a lawyer just to piss people off, and I might do that.
But to by myself some time, I decided to dispute the charges, just to make the bank do a little work.
Oh well, I learned something useful.

Illegal
1) When you have an porous border and do not take care of it, you get what the problem we have now: Lots of illegals and they all think they belong
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/03/27/060327202800.c290z4uh.html
"The latest protest came after one of the biggest protests in recent US history Saturday when more than 500,000 people marched in Los Angeles against the immigration reform bill that would make it a felony criminal offence to be in the United States illegally. "
2) Why don't we send a few ICE agents down there are arrest a few.
"The bill would also require employers to verify social security numbers with the Department of Homeland Security, beef up penalties for immigrant smuggling and stiffen penalties for undocumented immigrants who reenter the United States after having been removed."
3) Of course that SSN has long been a de facto PIN, they might as well make it an actual pin, right? Because they can't solve the problem with the current laws they might as well enact a few more.
"At least 11 million illegal immigrants, most of them from neighboring Mexico, live in the United States and are responsible for keeping the human machinery of US cities humming. "
4) Yea right, what about the other 290 million in america.
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/03/28/060328144530.5qwylcsk.html
""Today we march, tomorrow we vote," was the warning chanted by many of the 500,000 protesters who brought the second largest US city of Los Angeles to a standstill Saturday when they marched against the proposed crackdown on illegal immigration. "
5) Illegals and teenagers can't vote, and i am for keeping that that way moron.
http://www.nbc4.tv/education/8312992/detail.html
"Truant students could face discipline ranging from suspension to exclusion from certain school-sponsored functions. Students who are cited by law enforcement officers can face fines up to 200 dollars and 20 days of community service."
6) Good there are consequences in America, and it is about time the illegals learned that.

not really
"But in the ongoing debate over Nebraska's proposed concealed carry law, I find myself torn, perhaps because I'm dealing with it from a painful perspective that forces me to reconsider my own liberal [sic] outlook. My 24-year-old daughter, Rachel, was murdered on May 28 of last year. The man who climbed in through a bedroom window and killed her ......If any of the victims had been carrying a weapon, the outcome of that tragic confrontation would almost certainly have been better; it could hardly have been any worse. "
Actaully the death of your daughter had nothing to do with the conceal and carry laws. She could have owned a gun and kept it in her house, but choose not to. Though conceal and carry may save lives, it had nothing to do with the death of your daugther.

I think he is right
As an additional bonus, if the U.S. ’solves’ the Iranian problem its own way, that will also probably benefit both China and Russia. Both nations would be happy to see our resources used against Iran, indirectly strengthening their own regional positions. Being able to paint the U.S. as a unilateral cowboy nation would just be a bonus."
Maybe we should call their bluff. I am not suggesting attacking or anything like that, I am suggesting tactical isolation and see what happens. I am pretty much resigned to the fact we can only delay Iran's ascension to the nuclear level. Might as well make it hurt our enemies in the process. I don't consider China and Russia as our enemies, but they sure are not our friends.

V for Vendetta
Short version
The goverment got blowed up.
Longer version
The goverment was blowed up by a man who believed in the primacy of ideas and the importance of freedom.
Political comments
The government was a religious right wing fascist government that rounded up the sinners and the homosexuals. So that would have to make V a liberal, which since he did not use guns, it is possible. "V for Vendetta" for also had a great line about what happens when people who don't have guns meet people who do.
Miscellaneous
I really liked the movie and so did the girls. While it had a lot of action, it also had a large amount of dialogue that referenced a lot of shakespeare. The very first meeting between V and EV had the most impressive display of alliteration that I have seen in any movie.
Another thing, what that some of the horrible things the government did in the movie are not really all that impossible. Many of them were done by Hitler.

Rifles are almost ready to ship.
We finally received our test ammunition from Remington so we can finalize the 6.8 conversion kit.
I am really exicted about this rifle. I think that it is going to be awhile until i buy a carbine, but if this was available and I was buying right now, i would buy this or the sig 556 to try somthing different.

Moving On
Dear Internet Friends,
Some of you who read this blog know that I have been looking for a job in
Tulsa to be closer to my girlfriend. Well, I have accepted a job in Tulsa.
The last day at my current job will be the 22nd. Presently, I do not know
what the date of starting the new job will be, but it will probably be
sometime during the second week of March.
Posting will be short, in passing, and probably be mostly about 24 during
this busy period. I hope to join you again on the great wide internets once
I am completely settled.

24
Last nights episode marked the return of Weepy-in-love-Jack. Weepy in
love jack was introduced last year because jack ran out of middle eastern
men to kill. Heh.
The last two weeks of 24 have been plot building. Next week should be build
more tension, though from the previews i can tell you that Jack will kill
more next week than he did this week.
Though i believe that next week marks the return of really, really hot
terrorist chick that has made an appearance in all 5 seasons. Some of here
more memorable events were trying to kill palmer with hand cooties, blowing
up a plane then jumping out of it, and then getting her butt kicked by jack
last season, though he let her go and did not kill her.
So far jack has straightened out two Presidents.
