The problem with hostages...

when they are dead so are you.

A deadline of 3 a.m. Tokyo time today for the release of the three Japanese passed without news of their fate, the Japanese government said. An Iraqi group threatened to kill the captives unless Japan withdraws the 600 soldiers it has sent to help coalition forces distribute aid and rebuild infrastructure

Also I would like to point out that whatever the reasons of the people in Iraq for taking hostages, if it walks like a terrorist, talks like a terrorist, acts like a terrorist, and threatens to kill civilians like a terrorist, it must be a terrorist.

This is the first report I have seen which stated the Interim Council was doing the negotiating, which if they are able to successfully negotiate the end to some of the problems, then the Interim Council will be in a position of power. They stopped the bad Americans so would say the Iraqis, and the Americans will say they stopped the bad Iraqis.
