Interesting article

"That anger [about Vietnam] continues, but it does not justify the attack on Sen. John Kerry. "

An over looked fact is that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, has been around for a long time in one form are another. They have just taken their dislike of Kerry to the national stage, instead of just hanging out in Massachusetts.

Depending on your viewpoint it is an personal attack or it is the truth. The truth is justified, and attacks are not, is what I am getting from this line. You may choose not to believe what the Swift Boat Veterans say, but you do have to concede that you were not there and they were. Which since they were there, their statements could be true.

Dean's statements recently are of a different variety. While his statements could possibly be true, he not in the administration. Dean worked [note past tense] at the state level, not at the federal level. Which since Dean has no hard facts, or personal experience to back up his statements, they run closer to an attack than truth.
