One for the ages

"Things are just getting worse for a group of Iraqis visiting Memphis."
first: "The delegation first made headlines when they were banned from city hall because Memphis officials considered them a security risk." then,"Two of them were robbed at gunpoint on a downtown Memphis street Tuesday."

I guess no one told the Iraqis that Memphis is one of the most dangerous cities in America. The crime rate is outstandingly high here. I really don't know why, but their are some extreme white flight issues (and it is not just white people moving out, any one who makes enough money to afford a house in the suburbs moves out of Memphis).

I actually live inside the city limits of Memphis, but only barely. I am actually past the magic crime line. I know what you are thinking, "magic crime line...This is just some rich white boy racist snob", but don't forget that I am a blogger and will prove my claim to you.

Lets take two locations in Memphis.
Riverdale Rd & Winchester Rd, Memphis, TN 38115 US
Hacks Cross Rd & Winchester Rd, Memphis, TN 38125 US

These two places are 1.9 miles apart, if you were in shape you could run this.

Now lets take a look at a tool the Memphis police department has given us.

CrimeMapper
Go down to the area where you enter cross streets
Search criteria used: "Riverdale and Winchester" and "Hacks Cross and Winchester"

Now lets compare total crimes.
Riverdale and Winchester. (If the sytem gives you more than one match just pick one they are all the same)

Total Crimes:80

Hacks Cross and Winchester (If the sytem gives you more than one match just pick one they are all the same)

Total Crimes:25

The crime gets even less when you got further away from the magical line.
